Vinieta Bhatia: A Big Inspiration for All Solo Travellers

Travelling is an exhilarating experience and is a popular hobby among the wanderlust travellers around the world. While some prefer to travel in groups, others enjoy solo trips. The Indian society, however, does not approve women travelling alone and hence it is a big deal for the Indian women to travel alone. Vinieta Bhatia has dared to fight against the narrow mentality of the Indian people and has travelled alone to various places in India. She believes there are scores of benefits of travelling. It has helped her to become patient, deal with the critical situations and relax her mind.

From a very young age, Vinieta had the urge to travel all over the world. She read books and found out about many solo women travellers who enjoyed globetrotting all by themselves. This inspired Vinieta and slowly boosted her confidence. From her childhood, Vinieta had a burning desire to visit as many places as possible in her life. Initially, she had to fight against the Indian society’s pressure and went for small trips not only in her state but even to various cities and explored the countryside.

During the initial years of her travel, Vinieta faced a lot of criticism from friends, relatives, and acquaintances. It was at this point that the support of her parents helped her. They supported all her decisions and stood by her like solid rock. Vinieta’s first solo trip was with a couple of friends to Ladakh. During the trip, she realized that travelling was an important goal of her life. She realized the importance of travelling and how much she enjoyed it. Travelling for her is learning about the cultures of people all over India and the world.

Vinieta realized from her first trip that motto of her life was to travel to various places and enrich her experiences. She was not interested in an ordinary job within fixed hours. She realized that exploring the globe would make her feel complete and hence she began her journey all alone. She began her journey by visiting the nearby Indian states and within a span of 3 years, she had visited various religious places as she enjoys gaining insight into a city’s history. She enjoyed acquiring in-depth knowledge including the customs and traditions of the people of the place.

Vinieta Bhatia is a big inspiration for all the solo Indian women travellers. She overcame all the hurdles and fought against the pressure of the Indian society to lead a fulfilling and enriched life. Among all the hardships, one thing she is really thankful for is having supportive and caring parents who stood by her when the entire society was against her. Her story would inspire the other Indian parents to allow their children to go on solo trips and explore the world around them. Vinieta Bhatia is next planning an international tour and her aim is to explore the customs, traditions, and cultures of the various countries and learn about the history of those places. Her passion and determination would help her to materialise her dream of travelling all over the globe.
